On October 2, 2024, KIA hosted an Award Ceremony to recognize six saffron production companies that successfully obtained International Standards Certifications, including four FSSC 22000 and two ISO 22000. The event began with a recitation of the Holy Quran and featured a presentation by a KIA representative, who highlighted that the certification process was supported by USAID/DAI/ACEBA. Distinguished guests, including ACEBA representatives and the CEOs of the certified companies, emphasized the importance of these certifications for enhancing the credibility and quality of Afghan saffron in the international market. The representatives of the certified companies expressed their heartfelt gratitude for KIA’s invaluable services and the financial support from USAID/DAI/ACEBA, which has significantly contributed to their growth and the broader development of Afghanistan’s saffron industry. The ceremony concluded with a statement from the KIA representative, affirming the milestone’s significance for the region’s saffron industry and the ongoing partnership with USAID/DAI/ACEBA.
